Exercise 02.01: Tulsa County Library Access

Goal

The goal of this exer­cise is to access soft­ware resources avail­able to students.

Objective

The objec­tive of this exer­cise is to obtain a Tulsa County Library card and access edu­ca­tional videos at LinkedIn Learn­ing from LinkedIn.

Exercise

Tulsa County Library offers library access to Tulsa County res­i­dents, includ­ing ORU stu­dents. The exer­cise is struc­tured to receive credit for cre­at­ing and access­ing accounts at both Tulsa County Library and LinkedIn Learn­ing.

Part One

Visit https://​www​.tul​sal​i​brary​.org/​g​e​t​-​a​-​l​i​b​r​a​r​y​-​c​ard. Fol­low the direc­tions to obtain a library card. Make care­ful note of login cre­den­tials and pass­words for future reference.

Part Two

Use your library cre­den­tials to access Lynda​.com at the fol­low­ing link: https://​www​.linkedin​.com/​l​e​a​r​n​i​n​g​-​l​o​g​i​n​/​g​o​/​t​ccl. Make care­ful note of login cre­den­tials and pass­words for future reference.

Part Three

Once logged in to Lynda​.com, click the account infor­ma­tion in the upper right cor­ner of the screen. Choose the My Pro­file option and take a screen shot of the result­ing page.

To take a screen-shot:

  • Com­mand-Shift-4-Space­bar: Takes a screen­shot of the win­dow, and saves it as a file on the desk­top. The file will have a .png extension.
  • Com­mand-Shift‑3: Takes a screen­shot of the entire screen, and saves it as a file on the desk­top. The file will have a .png extension.
  • Instead of using the key­board short­cuts above, screen­shots can be taken by using the Screen­shot appli­ca­tion included with Mac OS X. It is located at /Applications/Utilities/Screenshot or by search­ing via Spot­light in the upper right of the Mac screen.
