Goal

The goal of this process is to pro­vide stu­dents and instruc­tors the nec­es­sary pro­ce­dures to suc­cess­fully com­plete an intern­ship and accom­pa­y­ing assessment.

Objective

The objec­tive of this doc­u­ment is to estab­lish a con­sis­tent and pre­dictable process for the stu­dents and instruc­tor to follow.

Process: Prior to Enrollment

• ​The stu­dent ver­i­fies eli­gi­bil­ity with Advi­sor. Eli­gi­bil­ity notices are made each semes­ter in ART 355 Graphic Design Studio. 
• The stu­dent finds an intern­ship. The loca­tion or time specifics are flex­i­ble, but requires a min­i­mum of 150 hours (ie 10 hours per week for 15 weeks, or 40 hours a week for 3–4 weeks). (Linkedin, Tulsa World, AIGA,  Art Direc­tors Club of Tulsa, Golden Hire, Tul​sa​Help​Wanted​.com, Craigslist, Mon­ster, ZipRecruiter, Career­Builder
• Stu­dents must present dig­i­tal records doc­u­ment­ing a min­i­mum of three (3) applications.
• The stu­dent com­pletes the ART 453 Practicum Infield Study Stu­dent Agree­ment.
• ​The stu­dent com­pletes the ART 453 Practicum Infield Study Spon­sor Information.
• ​The fac­ulty advi­sor will con­tact the spon­sor. Spon­sor com­pletes the ART 453 Practicum Infield Study Spon­sor Agreement.
• Advi­sor con­tacts stu­dent and pro­vides reg­is­tra­tion approval. 

Process: During Internship

• The stu­dent com­pletes the tasks assigned by the intern­ship sponsor. 
• The stu­dent com­pletes the assign­ments found in the course D2L site. 

Process: Prior to Completion and Grade Assignment

• The stu­dent and advi­sor ensure all course require­ments are met. 
• The stu­dent com­pletes the ART 453 Practicum Infield Study Spon­sor Evaluation.
• The fac­ulty Advi­sor is respon­si­ble for remind­ing the intern spon­sor to com­plete the ART 453 Practicum Infield Study Stu­dent Evaluation.
