Exercise 09.12: My Type of Person

Goal

To under­stand how type pre­sets influ­ence view­ers emo­tional inter­pre­ta­tion of sub­ject matter.

Objective

Use type effects to give the impres­sion an type object has emo­tion or personality.

Background

Exercise:

Using the text effects in After Effects, select 12 emo­tional words and an appro­pri­ate accom­pa­ny­ing effect for cre­ate 12 five (5) sec­ond ani­ma­tions, for a total of a one minute movie. Use black and white only, though greys and effects are per­mis­si­ble. Sound is optional.

Cre­at­ing and uti­liz­ing sep­a­rate comps for each word will allow flex­i­bil­ity to rearrange the flow of the clips prior to final com­po­si­tion and export. Please label each effect or pre­set in lower left cor­ner with ade­quate mar­gin, and a plain type­face of appro­pri­ate size.
