Exercise 01.01: The Graphic Image

To review the technical, aesthetic and conceptual skills needed for successful design solutions.

Complete a simple layout visually defining a science field using images and a limited amount of text.

This exercise utilizes quick idea generation and production. The focus is on the graphic impact, and less on any realistic parameters associated with a practical project. Create an 8.5 x 11 in layout with full bleeds and full color that defines your chosen field of science using images and the maximum of one sentence. No restrictions on images source (please cite). Fonts are limited to the AFFEE or restricted set.

Create a PDF from the files and deliver it to the appropriate D2L Dropbox.

  • The following rubric posted on D2L will determine exercise score: Exercise Grading
