Com­mis­sioned by the USDA For­est Ser­vice, Shawnee National For­est, in coop­er­a­tion with the South­ern Illi­nois Tourism Devel­op­ment Office and the Illi­nois Depart­ment of Com­merce and Eco­nomic Oppor­tu­nity, this project cre­ated the doc­u­ment that serves as the offi­cial guide to the For­est and its resources. Dis­trib­uted across Illi­nois and the Nation, the design incor­po­rates a map of the area, as well as images of the peo­ple and loca­tions asso­ci­ated with the For­est. Through a softer and more nat­ural design and mate­ri­als, the brochure and map lead view­ers through the recre­ational options the For­est pro­vides. 150,000 copies were dis­trib­uted to tourist infor­ma­tion cen­ters and through the numer­ous For­est Ser­vice offices.
