Exercise:
Using efforts from previous course assignments, generate a range of sample images and videos useful for creating the artifacts and experiences typical of the the breadth of contemporary brand. Image and video choices should cover a wide range of uses, communicate effectively, as well as meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliancy. The applications are almost endless, but a basic set will include the following for both print and digital applications:
- A main subject style for portraits
- A main style for groups of people
- A main style for landscapes or interiors (depending upon company)
- Styles for vehicles or products
Good selections will work anywhere, and serve the far reaching, and multi-cultural needs of our contemporary culture. Consider the composition, light, color and focal lengths with the images and video as an essential “look” that will determine photographic staff. Likewise, the style of editing and camera movement within videos will determine the production staff needed to generate the assets.
The choices are valuable guidelines to understanding the function of images in practical applications and design solutions, regardless of media form.
