Exercise
Create a sticker using two colors of adhesive vinyl cut on a computer controlled device. Align and transfer the stickers on application tape. Learn appropriate application techniques after critique.
Part One
After receiving the precut vinyl from the instructor, carefully weed the vinyl, paying attention to the figure and ground for each color. Use the class and video references as a guide. When all appropriate sections are cleared, apply transfer tape to the white text and remove the backing paper.
Part Two
The thickness of the vinyl will create the necessary edge to settle the corresponding color. Align the color, and apply with squeegee or card to base color backing paper. Carefully remove the transfer tape, using a diagonal movement back away from itself with the release paper nearly parallel with the sticker and work surface. Present this two (2) color sticker for critique. Do NOT apply the sticker before critique. Submit a photo of the sticker to the appropriate D2L dropbox.
