Goal

Develop a sen­si­tiv­ity to rel­a­tive motion used to cre­ate or rein­force meaning.

Objective

Cre­ate two short videos that uses two or more lines or abstract ele­ments chore­o­graphed to com­mu­ni­cate har­mony and conflict.

Background

Exercise:

Cre­ate a set of ani­ma­tions express­ing con­trast­ing design prin­ci­ples har­mony and con­flict. Begin plan­ning by choos­ing abstract shape or line and cre­ate a com­po­si­tion that reflects har­mony. Draw out a sim­ple sto­ry­board to test your ideas. Con­sider move­ment, veloc­ity and tim­ing in your decisions.

Pro­ceed to the com­puter and cre­ate a ten (10) sec­ond com­po­si­tion that reflects your sto­ry­board. Ani­mate and adjust as nec­es­sary. Com­plete a sim­i­lar ani­ma­tion for a com­po­si­tion that expresses conflict.
