Exercise 05.04: Relative Motion

Develop a sensitivity to relative motion used to create or reinforce meaning.

Create two short videos that uses two or more lines or abstract elements choreographed to communicate harmony and conflict.

Create a set of animations expressing contrasting design principles harmony and conflict. Begin planning by choosing abstract shape or line and create a composition that reflects harmony. Draw out a simple storyboard to test your ideas. Consider movement, velocity and timing in your decisions.

Proceed to the computer and create a ten (10) second composition that reflects your storyboard. Animate and adjust as necessary. Complete a similar animation for a composition that expresses conflict.
